Dr. Michael Miloro is Professor and Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Illinois. Dr. Miloro received his DMD degree at Tufts University, and his MD degree, General Surgery and OMFS certificates at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Miloro has held academic positions at The Ohio State University, University of Maryland at Baltimore, and University of Nebraska. Dr. Miloro is a Diplomate and past-Examiner of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Faculty Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Miloro has clinical and research interests in nerve regeneration, bone healing, implantology, TMJ disease, and orthognathic surgery. He has lectured nationally and internationally, has published extensively in the medical and dental literature, has written several textbook chapters, and serves on the Editorial Boards of the JOMS and OOOE journals, and he is Editor of three major textbooks in the specialty, Peterson's Principles of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Management of Complications in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Trigeminal Nerve Injuries.
